Different from the intense physical violence of Beat Him Up, this work is fraught with subtle aggression on a high school campus. Boys, among all three shorts, is the heaviest, because of the lurking violence that makes people feel a chill.
In an attempt to solve the mystery of a stolen sum of money, Ms. Li investigates one of the students at her culinary school, leading her to an unexpected discovery.
Beat Him Up focuses on issues of bullying and mental health, exploring the profound ways in which guilt and repressed emotions can change and ruin lives.
We created the prequel of “Boys" and made it into a separate film.
This is my first short film.
